In the early 2000’s Leif Ryan returned from a trip to Germany after enjoying many a good beer…..
Upon his return he was disappointed to find he could not relive his experience with a long glass of wheat beer at home.
This was when inspiration struck, and Leif was determined to bring some of the worlds best beers to Australia.
Initially starting a specialist liquor store called the International Beer Shop, he imported a few pallets of the wonderful beers from the Weihenstephan Brewery.
It quickly became evident that there was a wide demand for these beers.
Leif made the decision to start a Beer wholesale company, deciding to name it after his faithful dog who was sitting under his desk at the time
Phoenix Beers was born
In September 2004 the first container of Weihenstephan beers landed in Perth Australia
Leif & Phoenix, with the help of a small team of beer lovers began distributing the world’s tastiest and unique brewed beverages around Perth
In the years since, we grew to bring a multitude of different beers and breweries to Australian shores, distribution to both on premise and off premise venues and stores
Phoenix Beers has become synonymous with imorting the best beer and cider the world has to offer, and continues to do so
